About

Patrícia Cerqueira Seidler was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and raised in Puerto Rico and The Netherlands. Having been born into the latter part of a 20-year US-backed dictatorship, Patrícia learned early on the power of policies, people, and collective action.

A passionate political scientist and critical pedagogue, Patrícia earned a Political Science and French degree from the University of Florida, a graduate degree in International Education Policy from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a graduate degree in Urban Elementary Education from Simmons University.

Fiercely dedicated to culturally sustaining practices, Patrícia works to uplift joy and center each student’s and teacher’s geniuses through embodied learning. In 2023, Patrícia  earned her Maryland administrator’s license and hopes to one day co-lead a liberation-focused joy and movement public school for K-8 students.

Patrícia has had the gift of serving for 22 years in public elementary schools, twelve of those years in Dual Language schools as a Spanish facilitator and Dual Language Instructional Coach.  Patrícia currently facilitates learning in English Language Arts and Social Emotional learning through an Antibias Antiracist (ABAR) multilingual lens as a Special Education teacher in Maryland. She also gets to serve as Restorative Justice Coach for her school community.

Through her consulting firm Another Way PD, LLC, Patrícia works to dismantle the top-down policy and power structures of traditional public education so that students, teachers, families, and school-level folx can co-create more nurturing, embodied, and sustainable education policies aligned with the needs of the students and families they serve.

A talented facilitator, Patrícia offers professional learning in multidisciplinary teaching within the single grade or multigrade monolingual and bilingual classroom alike. Her passion for working with teachers has allowed her to offer another way to co-create a thriving community in the classroom where students feel seen, like they matter, and can exert positive influence and leadership in their midst.
